For our Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics in Oberpfaffenhofen we are looking for Electrical Engineer, Information Technology Engineer or similar (f/m/x), Embedded hardware for sensory acquisition and control of robotic systems

Das erwartet Sie:

The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics develops robots that enable people to interact with the environment more effectively, efficiently and safely. The robots are designed to work in environments that are inaccessible or dangerous for humans, but also support and relieve people during work and in everyday life. Here the integration of embedded systems plays a decisive role here, as it enables sensor signals to be processed and implement motor controllers for the actuation of our systems. The design and implementation of such applications on microcontrollers requires in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering and embedded C, as well as an understanding of a variety of communication interfaces such as EtherCAT, SPI, CAN, I²C and UART.

As a member of our Digital Electronics group in the Mechatronic Systems department, you will have the opportunity to, your skills and experience in embedded systems, especially in the development of modern robot systems with EtherCAT fieldbus. You will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about the development robots for a wide range of applications, e.g. in the fields of aerospace, aviation, civil protection and medicine. We are looking for a qualified addition to our team who specializes in programming embedded systems and has some experience with EtherCAT and has some experience with EtherCAT.

The job can be divided into the following subtasks:

  • Conception and development of embedded systems for the sensory acquisition and control of complex robot systems using the programming language Embedded C on microcontrollers and system on chips
  • New development of algorithms for the control of robotic joints with special consideration of the safety of the overall system of the overall system, e.g. in accordance with EN ISO10218
  • Integration of the EtherCAT deterministic fieldbus into our control systems to enable real-time communication and control of the robot joints, as well as sensory detection of the overall system
  • Design, analysis, optimization and troubleshooting of electronic systems and components
  • New development of suitable measurement software for the commissioning of electronic components (programming languages: e.g. ANSI-C, Matlab)
  • Selecting suitable measuring equipment and operating it for commissioning, analyzing and troubleshooting electronic components, taking into account the relevant standards

Das erwarten wir von Ihnen:

  • Completed scientific university degree (Master's degree / university diploma) in engineering, e.g. in the field of electrical engineering or information technology or other university degree relevant to the job.
  • Knowledge of programming embedded systems, in particular with the C programming language.
  • Knowledge in the field of electrical engineering and real-time communication.
  • Knowledge of circuit development.
  • Knowledge of robotics, mechatronics and control engineering.
  • Experience with the EtherCAT fieldbus and system on chips is an advantage.
