Technical Programmer (f/m/d)

As a technical programmer at our studio, you will be responsible for writing efficient code in C++ and Unreal Blueprints to bring our space game to life. You will work closely with our team of developers and designers to ensure that the game runs smoothly and efficiently, and you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of the project.

But, it’s not just about the code — we’re looking for someone who is truly passionate about space games and wants to help us make the best game possible. If you have a love for all things space and an innate desire to create immersive, engaging experiences for players, then we want to hear from you!

In addition to your technical skills, we would also love it if you have experience with profiling tools to optimize CPU load times, assets, and FPS. This will be a valuable asset as we strive to create a smooth, seamless gameplay experience for our players.

Responsibilities

  • Writing efficient code in C++ and Unreal Blueprints
  • Collaborating with the development team to ensure smooth and efficient gameplay
  • Using profiling tools to optimize CPU load times, assets, and FPS
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and techniques in the field
  • Port our games to various current and future platforms like consoles and different operating systems
  • Communicate with platform owners about feature requirements, technical challenges, and release coordination
  • Making a real impact on the success of our space game project

Requirements

  • Experience in Unreal Engine 4
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 Blueprints visual scripting
  • Solid understanding of C++ and debugging in a game development environment
  • Experience with Linux and Mac OS
  • Experience with game development tools and methods
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills
  • Team player, self-driven, and willing to learn
  • Openenss to work with existing code base to develop and enhance gameplay
  • Great passion for sci-fi shooter games and sci-fi movies
  • Sufficient English language skills to follow the conversation in team meetings and understand project documentation

Bonus Skills

  • Programming Experience with Consoles
  • Knowledge in Unreal Engine 5
  • Speaking German is a plus
